I got involved with the Jake K Foundation several years ago when I had the opportunity to attend one of their dinners. I was so inspired by the courage portrayed by the people who had recovered and the success of the Foundation itself, that I knew I wanted to get involved. I am a retired Nassau County Police Detective and have lost 2 of my brothers to drug and alcohol use. I have seen the effects of drug use from both a personal and professional perspective along with the devastating impact it has. The days I lost my brothers were two days I don’t want anyone to have to endure.
I am proud to volunteer for Jake K Foundation and to help send people for the help they need and can’t afford. If we save one person, it is worth the effort!
