We can do hard things

In March 2018, we received a call from a man in jail in Suffolk County, NY, for a DUI. He was desperate and willing to leave his mom and brothers to do a long-term residential program. We funded his access, he is #399.

#399 (of 637 people) followed suggestions, completed a program, and developed a recovery program that allowed him to marry in his fourth year of sustained recovery from alcohol and drugs.

This same month when he marks five years in recovery, he is doing a hard thing. His mom had terminal cancer, and he was able to be present and by her side for her last few days. She too was in recovery, 43 years, and is a shining example.

Today, #399, his family, friends, and those who knew his mom sent her off with love. Godspeed, you beautiful soul.
