I know I said I could in the beginning but I didn’t really believe it.
Y’all taught me to fake it til you make it.
The first year I wanted to do something different. I wanted to make it to a year to show that I could. Then someone said to me “Is this your new way of life or did you just get a year?” Well…. my life had improved so much in that year I wanted to keep going.
At two years someone said, “This is when it gets real.” They were right also.
At three years I was told that the third year is hard. It was. By then I had some tools in place and some step work behind me.
My fourth year brought TREMENDOUS change to my life. No one said anything about year four though – no warning at all LOL. Of course, Covid had happened also But 5?! FOR REAL?! This girl?
This girl that thought she would smoke pot and drink tequila forever (at the very least) has been clean and serene for FIVE WHOLE DAMN YEARS!!!!
Thank you! I didn’t do it alone.
There are so many of you that are a part of this I can’t name you all but know as I sit here this morning, in tears of gratitude for where my life is today and the things already unfolding for my fifth year, that every one of you in my life has a purpose and every one of you that has been a part of my journey I’m grateful to.
Never alone, never again.
